[MBZ] ANTIFREEZE TYPE
HI; I always used the Cheapest Antifreeze in all my vehicles, $6-$7 a gal.; thinking about using some good stuff in my Mercedes benzes?; was it Zerex 05??? or what is correct name of it? . OK for M.B.s? ; 79 240D, 83 300D, 85 300D. In my 88 Ford Ranger, always used CHEAPEST antifreeze, but changed it every year or 2; removed top bottom radiator caps, looks like NEW inside, OH, it has 219,000 miles on it(problem was sending unit on top of engine) Steve
Re: [MBZ] ANTIFREEZE TYPE
Use either the MB stuff Rusty sells or get the Zerez 05 or G5 whichever it is. You'll be glad you did. Re: [MBZ] ANTIFREEZE TYPE
Zerex G-05, Ford and Chrysler type. Don't use green antifreeze, and particularly don't leave it in there for decades, it will not protect the aluminum from corrosion, and it can get so bad the head gasket blows -- my sister's Volvo did just that, had to get a new head for it. Peter
Re: [MBZ] ANTIFREEZE TYPE
I think the green is probably fine, IF IF IF you change it often enough. But practically nobody does, and that includes me too I suppose. -- Jim
