Re: [MBZ] Alarming!
I have not experienced that with our 13 F150. Randy On 03/09/2021 12:56 PM, OK Don via Mercedes wrote: Our 2013 F150's alarm will go off for no reason if I leave it unlocked in the garage. My 05ML500 (163) sometimes randomly starts screaming, the remote will shut it off. Which reminds me I need to replace the batteries in the fob as it is dead, which will probably require the re-pairing dance to get it to work. --FT On 9/3/21 11:45 AM, Jim Cathey via Mercedes wrote: (I've never owned an alarmed car before). Re: [MBZ] Alarming!
So annoying. My newer cars don't have alarms, but they have a habit of self-locking. I'll park the car at the house, go inside, come out later to retreive something from the car and find it locked. So then I have to go back inside in get the keys, as my blood pressure climbs 10 points. If I want the car locked, I'll lock it. If I leave it unlocked, I want it unlocked. I also want to be able to start and drive it with a key that doesn't have an RFID chip that costs $150 or more, and possibly a dealer service appointment to replace (a nice scam that one is, charge $$$ for a device that costs pennies). [MBZ] Alarming!
I left my '14 GLK 250 unlocked in the driveway with the windows open to keep it cool. Just now (without the key), when I opened the driver's door and reached into the vehicle to retrieve an item from between the front seats, the car alarm went off! I ran inside to get the key and fortunately was able to turn it off. I guess this is a safety feature that has good intentions, but unforeseen consequences.
