The machine is an '85 I think, the club got it in 2000 as a derelict and
resurrected it. Nobody remembers EVER setting the valves. I think its safe to
say the gasket will need replacement.I've found some but I'm not sure they'll
fit and for $35 I want to measure what we have before I find out...
If you could get the U-channel (use a gasket for an OM617?) then cut to length
and super glue the ends together, I'm sure that would work.
On the other hand, are you sure the gasket that is on there needs to be
replaced? I've re-used them many times with no problem.

I had to go to the dentist this morning, then since I thought we were going

aren't grooming which is a big disappointment, its supposed to be cold tonight
and it would have set well but we really don't have enough snow...
ok. Thanks

3.0 liter OM603 (original engine), modified with the addition of a fuel
injection pump from a later 3.5liter version of the OM603. I would like to
adjust the governor to deliver less fuel and increase the engine RPM fuel
cut-off, but haven't had time to do that yet.

Just filled the fuel tank on my 124 diesel wagon, 24.2 mpg around town.
Looking back in my fuel log, mileage jumped about 2 mpg when I replaced the
faulty thermostat which was keeping the engine too cool. I'm expecting the
highway mpg to be around 27 or 28 now, but no chance to test that yet.

I'm here, no Benzing yet today since I got the $500E300 running pretty
well yesterday.
But I was thinking I need to start knackering the 300TD soon, get it out
of the way and get some parts off it. Does thinking count?
