0-60 in 10.2 seconds? At least it can keep up with a 2.2L Dodge Omni
or Plymouth Horizon. (and outrun any 190D sold in USA) OTOH, the
Horizon never came with plastic wheel covers.

these figures are so meaningless. i've owned some very slow cars and some
relatively fast, powerful one. on the fast powerful ones, you push the
throttle pedal 1/8 and go. in a slow car, you floor it and go just as
fast. as a practical matter, 0-60 in 10 seconds is far more than adequate
and can be driven about as fast in normal traffic as that sub 6 second
fast car.

big horsepower is fun but nothing more in terms of typical driving.

Yes, but speaking as someone who has seen and sat in a B Series (have yet to
drive one), bear in mind that right now they are promoting the base model at
a hair under $30k with attractive financing. (However, the base model has an
extensive optional equipment list.) The Turbo model is about $4k more I
believe.

Here in Canada that represents only about $6k-$7k more than a Kia Rondo or
Mazda5, and when you see the B in the flesh it is way more substantial --
though I have noticed that its styling has much greater appeal in certain
colours. White and silver, for example, make it look dingy and cheap. The
red and blue are great.

It's very comfortable and the driving position is excellent, road view of a
minivan but does not feel like you are in one when you are behind the wheel.

In terms of 0-60 times, let's all get real here. Exactly where the hell do
these automotive testers think most of us are going to use a second or two
less 0-60 time -- in a family hauler? Some of them I think just enjoy how
authoritative their words look on the screen, when they babble about that
stuff.

Have driven one and I can agree, also I've driven the turbo model with
the variable continuous transmission masking as a 6 or 7 speed tranny.
Which is weird to drive because under max acceleration on an on-ramp
it goes to near redline (likely max HP or torque) and just stays
there
Needless to say merging happens really fast.
