Been a confounding week. For some reason the stuff nobody was interested in from my CL postings got all manner of attention. From folks out of town who wanted large collections of my junque. Made arrangements with them that I could drop it off on my way to Brunch with #2 boy who was just settled into college by his helicopter mom. I recall being shown the airport and told to have fun at university when I was his age. My mother had the same treatment 75 years ago. Kids are so soft these days.
Around mid week, all these interested parties begin to get flaky. Some thinking I was going to be there next week. Another wanting to maybe back out, or did he want to have me sell him more things? And then a fellow I had loaded up with treasure in May calls and wants most of the stuff himself and was coming to to fetch it all. I had to think on this, for their might be CL karma to befall me. I gave him the go ahead, and he flakes. Good thing I had not told the others that they could suck eggs. I rounded up the goods and made it secure in boxes and bags in preparation for transport. I loaded up the SDL last night just as this massive thunderstorm overtook the region. Trunk full, back seat full and just enough space in the passenger area to toss my jacket. Hopped in the car twenty minutes past sunrise and headed to PDX. No rain and I made superb time and had to arrange for the first bunch of new owners to meet me at the fuel stop an hour early. The next stop removed more product and by the time I was done with brunch, the last fellow drove over and relieved me of the last of it. I left PDX a bit after it had begun to dump rain and fled up the interstate hoping to beat the impending follow up thunder shower and the exodus of the Seahawk fans post game. Seven hours on the road and I can begin to see empty space in the basement and garage. Now to find people who will give me stacks of cash for the SDL and SL. But not right now. I have to tidy the house in case SWMBA get ahold of a realtor while I am not here. clay monroe 1974 450sl - Frosch - Two tone green 1986 SDL- Polei Retired- 1982 300SD - Allen 2002 s430 - Victor, a Stately & well tailored crap 1976 300D - Das Blei - Lead Sled 1972 220D - Gump - She was green, simple and ran and ran 1995 E300D - Gave her life against a dame in a SUV POS 1987 SDL - Beware Nigerian Scammers _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
