I have been asked for advice on a trailer slideout. Why me? I
guess because I work on my own cars, therefore I must know about
all automotive like stuff.
Anyway - I don't. Know everything. Actually, I know very
little about these camper or travel trailers [caravans]. I
believe the slide out
I know very little but I have seen some that appear to be a large electric
screw jack that can be run with a crank in case of no power.

Mine was hydraulic with manual crank. Some are all manual. Seemed pretty
reliable to me. Has gaskets round it, probably will not leak unless the gaskets
are real bad.

The slideout on my 29' Springdale travel trailer is the electric screw jack
setup with a manual crank backup. They do pretty well as long as the
gaskets are good.
