Agreed. I would pull in face-first and back out. I don’t like to do it, but in
a lot of cases, it’s because I don’t want to block my trunk or rear hatch.

I travel a lot and have noticed recently at hotels, restaurants, basically
anywhere with a parking lot, people seem to back into the parking stop instead
