[MBZ] Car shaking at shutdown
The collective wisdom, Ok so last week I changed out my engine shocks, engine mounts and did a valve clearance adjustment. To my amazement my car ran perfectly afterward. No shaking etc. The most noticeable improvement was when I turned my car off the whole car no longer shook back and forth on that final swing of the engine. It was nice; I turn key, engine stops, no car shaking. Within two days one of the engine shock mounts failed under the new pressure of working engine shocks. I had to drive around a few days with the shock free standing because I had to wait for the new shock mounts to come in. After replacing the mounts now my engine has resumed the old final shake when I turn it off. What the hell!? I was soo happy. My current theories are as follows. The rubber on the old mounts was so soft and worn out (because they were about to fail, which they did) that I was getting the illusion of a soft stop. Or me driving it around for a few days with out shocks (because of the failed mount) caused something else to go wrong. Any ideas? I want my shake free stop back!! Nick 82 300 SD

Well FYI the only thing the shocks are for is to prevent that final shake when shutting down. RE: [MBZ] Car shaking at shutdown
Thank you for stating what is already known. Hence the name Engine stop shocks. They do assist a little in preventing overall shaking during idle btw. That still does not give me any ideas about why my final shake has returned with new shocks, and new mounts. RE: [MBZ] Car shaking at shutdown
When you turn your engine off is there a shake? Or is it flawless? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kaleb C.
