Isn't this rather cheap for an R129?
(oops, needs transmission and electrical work)
http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/2119583787.html
How about $1500 and I make a 250SLD out of it?
Probably be too heavy and underpowered.
1996 Mercedes Benz 320 SL, jet black, hardtop removal convertible, approx.
I've seen em cheaper. Find one with a bad engine and put a om606 in it
:D There are a couple of diesel powered 107s out there.

I didn't know they made a four door SL in 1961.
Is this a 220S, or a lesser car?

From the interior color, it is probably a 220Sb. If the year is
right, then it is either a 220Sb or a 220SEb. My guess is that the
front bumper is off because of rust.
I doubt is is an SE. as those were pretty pricey. There

Engine turd is easy to remedy. there is a 450SLC in the PnP with
engine that looks fine enough for $200 with transmission, you pull.
now shipping may increase the price to get the car and the engine
together.
