So if you want to do it that way, why not ask the shop if they would be willing to do that should the ins co decide to total it. MG Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes wrote: Because I’m a cheap ass and want to make some cash off the deal, so I am on the fence about getting it fixed at a shop

Because I’m a cheap ass and want to make some cash off the deal, so I am on the fence about getting it fixed at a shop (assuming it’s not totaled) or keeping the cash. At the end of the day I want to extract as much money as possible out of these people. I guess my neck might start hurting.

Kaleb, Don't be scared of the B pillar damage. The services of a competent body shop with a frame shop should pull it back to position pretty quickly, done and dusted.. then find a replacement door, paint to match.. adjust the rear door so the car has proper fit and margins... you could be back in

You've got enough going on. Let the shop fix it properly, and let her insurance pay for a rental while your car is being repaired. If they want to total it, in my experience their offer will be more than fair. I'd take it and move on. It's only a car. On Wed, Aug 17, 2022, at 12:26, Kaleb

Last week they requested photos of the damage, which I sent. I let the adjuster know in that email that I would be taking the car on Wednesday (today) to get estimates from the local MB certified shop that the dealer uses. Previous to that when I told him that is where I would be going, he
