Yeah, I know they’re regional, but not national. I was looking once when I was
planning a trip in case there were issues.

That sounds like Tires Plus, a regional tire store chain around FL and the
southeast. I’m sure each one can be different, but the one by my house was
great for years. They even knew about spreader bars for alignments on our cars!
The guy that ran the one by me was a former Michelin rep, and
brick and mortar Discount Tire was always my go to because they had excellent
customer service for many, many years. Whenever I’d add a vehicle to the stable
all I’d have to do is let them know and they’d add it to my account as if I
bought tire there for it. Now to do it they want to charge me
Yes, last several ordered have come from them.

It appears discount tire is getting taken over by Tire Rack. It’s been years
since I have bought anything from Tire Rack as their prices were always higher
than Discount Tire. Discount Tire online appears to be going away completely
and will only be the brick and mortar locations that will

I have no idea just what all they did. Probably would not take the
ED there. Simple laser alignment from what I saw. They futzed with
it for a while then told me the bushings were all shot, if I got that
fixed they would redo the work for free. I did not have the full set
of bushings

Well, that's where Brian ought to go then. I've always had flats
fixed there for free and have bought quite a few tires from them as
well. Their house brand tires are not the best in the world, but
Les and his boys did the alignment for Gump. Worth the few dollars
just to get her to stop drifting. She needs a full front end re-
bushing, but that will be a few miles down the road when I have
collected all the rubber bits. Will have oldest boy do the job with
his uncle so that he

So they knew about the spreader bar and all that? I wouldn't have
expected a chain store to know the right tricks. Or are 115s aligned
in a more conventional way than 123s and later?

Shoot, I would have taken mine in there to have it fixed. At
Firestone, I believe the repair was something like $20 or so.

I will second his report on DT -- a good company to deal with. I took a
Benz tire over there when it got a nail, dropped it off, came back an
hour later, it was done and no charge. I about fell over. The guy was
very nice too and seemed happy to have done that. I kept waiting to
