This year's ChowdaQ blew all expectations, 10 MB's (2 of other marques) with 15 people. We even had 3 previous unknowns from the PeachParts gang. We had our wides variety of chow yet, Dwight started us off with A1 Chowda, Fred brought the greens and I cooked up a variety of meats including terriaki beef skewers, chicken kabobs, burgers, hot dogs and spicy moose sausage (no joke!) Tom rounded out the day with fresh espresso to settle our stomachs. Awards we given for jalopys, not so jalopys, story telling expertise and cooking expertise (that might be a stretch) complete with impressive trophys Burt provided. Door prizes included a polo shirt donated by Rusty, a copy of The Star and the Laurel from Dwight and a new in box MB hood star from Fred. Several test drives were taken and comparisons made to cars current and past and a fine time was had by all. And I flogged it 110 miles a day most of the summer and fall until the 190D came on line. Just took it to my in-laws this evening, it sat all week and fired right up no issue. Well I have thought about that. A stick 240D is as solid and dependable as you can get. Maybe I will be tired of the 300CD by the ChowdaQ.
