The firewall on my router won’t let it send anything out without my approval. I check the manufacturer’s web site to see if there are firmware updates, and when there are I let it download them or I pull them down and side load them with a USB stick. If I don’t want something to phone home, it’s blocked at the edge of my environment. -D > On Nov 5, 2019, at 1:53 PM, Max Dillon via Mercedes > wrote: > > > Unless the TV has a cell phone included, and once a month or so it phones > home to transmit your data and the conversations it has recorded. Re: [MBZ] For when Poos moves into his new house
When/if I ever replace our 58" Panny plasma it'll be an OLED. Nothing else even remotely approaches the video quality of a good plasma. OLED actually beats it. There have only been five different consumer display technologies: CRT, Plasma, LCD, DLP, and OLED. The rest are all variations and marketing hype. The applications on our 2010 'smart' TV have all died, one by one. Maybe one of them still works, I'm not sure. What is not appreciated is that they stop supporting a TV shortly after release, and as services move, change, and die, so does the utility of your TV. Fortunately its tuner still works, and it's an excellent HDMI monitor for the Apple TV. It also works well with the LD, DVD, and BluRay players. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
