Where are you and how cold does it get? I am in Canada and the fuel may
be somewhat different but I can say that I have had little or no issue
with fuel over the winter months even if I don't put stabiliser in it. I
assume that to be an issue of the cold. When cold, it does not evaporate
much
carbs and a tendency to get
stuck needles in the carbs causing fuel to pour out the overflow, a dose of
Seafoam cures it every time.

As a counterpoint I don't use any additives and have never had any issues with
small engines stored over the winter, with no special preparation. I don't buy
ethanol-cut gasoline which may have something to do with it.
