Mercedes Benz E300 diesel

1999 E300 turbo diesel. 182k miles. Has transmission problem. Starts,
runs low gear reverse. Won't upshift. Several mechanics looked at it,
said it's stuck in safe mode.
$2500. Our loss. Good solid car, 33 mpg on highway, 24mpg around town.
