OK, was trying to register with MB Classic in case I need something from them in the future. and when it asked for the VIN I gave it the following: WDB.EB28D1MB.364746 which is 16 AlphaNumeric (the periods don't count) characters.  The Classic Registration site says it has to have 17

That's be great Max - if you go to the PnP please check to see if they still have one.  I saw some 240D harnesses for between $25 and $50.  Let me know what you think the going rate might be and I'll let you know if it's in my budget. Right now my plan is to pull the Harness and repair it

Very unlikely you need to replace the whole gp harness. If it's blowing the fuse you have a short. Either a plug is shorted which should be easy to find, or often times the connectors at the gp gets rotated around on the stud of the plug and contacts the head or other metal part somewhere. It's

Hey Larry, recommend you try Tom Hanson at the Classic Center for the harness part number and availability. I was able to get a new harness for my '95 sedan about seven years ago. Other options include rebuilding it yourself or sending to a place that rebuilds harnesses. In my experience
