Re: [MBZ] Hands free phone device question
That's the beauty of hands free, the ability to safely take calls while driving. Doesn't happen often, but getting mid-drive course corrections from SWMBO do happen (eg. while driving home from work, please stop at grocery store for bread, milk and toilet paper), and I'd much rather get that call before I drive several miles past the grocery store and then have to turn around and slog through heavy traffic to get back. If I get into a call that starts to go too deep, I've got no problem telling the other party to either wait until I am not driving or send me an email or text and I'll respond when I'm not driving. I'll rarely initiate a call while driving, unless I happen to be stopped at a light or jammed up in traffic and not moving. - Max Charleston SC ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Get a blue parrot 250 series headset. Throw the phone where ever you want. It'll cost you a Ben, but you won't regret it. I made business calls all over creation on mine, and people I asked how it sounded could not believe I was not on a land line. They are made to sound professional over the noise of OTR trucks. And, they DO! DON'T make business calls on a speakerphone. We all wonder who all you have listening in. I had an A$$hat boss in the 70s who only called on speaker. This is what I used in my W210 with the leather covered mount: https://tinyurl.com/yc8gl82w I used double sided tape to anchor it to the flat surface of the mount. It’s been there since last year and hasn’t shown any indication that it’s coming off. It’s worked quite well and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I have an iPhone in a case, so I didn’t want to add anything to the case just to make it compatible with my car mount. This works perfectly and will pretty much fit anything. -D > On May 24, 2018, at 6:57 AM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes >wrote: > > Dwight, maybe you could glue the steel plate on the inside of the case? > > - > Max > Charleston SC > > On Wed, May 23, 2018 at 10:26 PM, Dwight Giles via Mercedes < > mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > >> Thanks Max. Re: [MBZ] Hands free phone device question
I’m really picky about phone/iPod, etc., sort of mounts. I want something that integrates with my car and isn’t some cheesy suction cup on the windshield/hanging from my AC vents sort of thing. So I found a really nice, but not cheap, mount that is custom made for my car from these guys: http://www2.kudausa.com/ It matches my interior leather and mounts right on to the side of the console, like it was a factory install. As this is just a platform of sorts, I found an inexpensive claw or clamshell sort of holder that holds my phone in place while I drive. The mount company has a presence on eBay, but if you want a specific color besides the basic colors they offer they have to create an auction for you. They do match Mercedes interior colors. Mine matches the gray leather on my console perfectly. I can take a picture and post it later today if anyone wants to see what I’m talking about. -D > On May 23, 2018, at 11:04 AM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes >wrote: > > Dwight, > > I'm very happy with my Scosche magnetic / suction cup mount. Dwight, I'm very happy with my Scosche magnetic / suction cup mount. The mount uses a suction cup to attach to the windshield, then I glued the thin steel plate to the back of my phone's OtterBox case with Shoe Goo. The plate on the phone case is held to the mount by magnetic attraction. I've tried several other car mounts, this is the best by far. Very fast to mount / remove the phone, magnet is plenty strong to hold the phone in place on rough roads, suction cup is holding up very well about three years after purchase. Bought mine at Wally World, Amazon also has them: https://smile.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-MAGHDGPS-MagicMount-Universal-Magnetic/dp/B00Q69U8YM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8=1527087432=8-8=scosche+magnetic+car+mount I liked the Scosche mount so much that I also bought their other cell phone accessories like the cigarette lighter USB adapter and some charging cables, and the quality really is very nice. - Max Charleston SC On Tue, May 22, 2018 at 5:55 PM, Dwight Giles via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > RI has a hands free phone law going into effect at the end foo this month. > Any recommendations for mounting for my w211?
