[MBZ] How much Antifreeze do I need

Hi, all-

It's time for me to put a block heater in da Benz (1980 300CD.) How much fluid
do I need to fill the radiator back up once I drain it?

One jug (gallon?) of coolant plus one gallon of water seems to fill up my
240D.

Somewhat unrelated, but where could a smell of diesel fuel be emanating from
on a 1985 300CD.

I checked the obvious places (injector lines, fuel filler) buit they were
not at fault.  It seems to come from the driver's side of the car as it
passes me by.
There are no visible fuel leaks either when the vehicle is at rest...
