Re: [MBZ] I bought this to keep the roads clear of downed trees, but it is is too much machine for me 1987 Mercedes-Benz unimog, $19, 000

2021-04-13 Thread Curt Raymond via Mercedes
Probably with a bunch of other things. In this case it goes on a truck all by
its lonesome.
That price is the worst case scenario if I have to hire a truck to drive 16
hours and spend an hour loading/unloading at each end. Best case would be
finding somebody who is deadheading north to pickup a load...

I guess prices have gone up.  I shipped my 12000# Mog from Bremerhaven
(Germany) to Tacoma for that.

After going to the gym 3 days a week for a year I've actually gained
(regained?) an inch as confirmed at a Dr. visit last month. I suppose this
would just put that inch back. ;)
I bet shipping that thing would be a big expense. I've priced moving a 14,000#
backhoe the 450 miles to camp and it looks like its going to be somewhere just
south of $3,000...

No indeed. I drove mine from Tacoma to Spokane, and it was one of the longest
highway trips I've ever taken. Slow, hot, and noisy. Figure 45-50mph tops.
Nowhere
