The plastic is getting brittle. How successful this repair will be is (IMHO) determined by how much 'splint' you put into the repair. Otherwise, it'll just break somewhere else. I hate plastic. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
Re: [MBZ] Infiniti rear window repair
sounds like working on a 124 back door. Gee, I wonder where they got the idea? Waytago! I love cheap fixes. Max Dillon via Mercedes wrote on 2/16/19 12:32 PM: Today I get to fix the Infiniti's right rear door window. It failed last night, so I taped it closed and then this morning took off the door panel. I found the window regulator is a simple cable with pulley type and the window carrier had detached from the cable where the 24 year old plastic finally gave out. Got it out of the door, cleaned the plastic parts up, and mixed up some two-part epoxy. It's drying now, I think in another hour or two I'll be ready to put it back into the door. Not quite as much fun as working on my Benz but at least I'm outside working on a car. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
