They should be the same diameter, but they might not be - from past
experience. Trust but verify!

If they’re the same you should be OK. I don’t know if the nannies on the later
models are that discriminating, but the tires that were on my 1999 E320 4Matic
were totally mismatched and had far different wear levels/patterns, and I never
had any indication that it cared.
