the made in USA twins. The italian 250s were ok, but probably not
more than ok. Most people who had the 250s abused them from what I
could see. In the 70s, every gaggle of harleys on the road had a

Nope.

On February 26, 1981, a group of thirteen senior Harley-Davidson executives,
led by Vaughn Beals, signed a letter of intent to purchase the company from
AMF. Settled by June 16, 1981, the executives celebrated with a ride from
York to Milwaukee. 1981 production: 41,586 motorcycles.

1986 Harley-Davidson returned to public ownership by offering two million
shares of common stock and a concurrent offering of $70 million principal
amounts of subordinated notes due 1996.

[MBZ] More News from Chrysler

2009-04-30 Thread Tom Hargrave
Dear Employees,

Today is the day that we expect the U.S. government to announce whether
Chrysler has satisfied requirements to go ahead with our proposed global
alliance with Fiat and qualify for additional federal loans. Following the
Administration’s announcement, we will communicate to you further details on
what the decision means for us.

Yesterday, UAW members voted to ratify a new labor agreement that will
substantially improve Chrysler’s competitive position. We appreciate the
sacrifices made by represented employees to aid our restructuring effort.
This was the latest example of how so many of our constituents – employees,
dealers, suppliers, lenders, Daimler and Cerberus have stepped up during
this critical period to help ensure our viability.

With the guidance of the U.S. Treasury, we also continue to work with our
lenders to establish a level of debt that would be serviceable under the
proposed Fiat alliance. The agreement of all lenders continues to be a
critical factor in our ability to meet government requirements and as such,
remains our focus in the successful completion of our restructuring efforts.

On March 30, the U.S. Treasury announced that all Chrysler constituents
would need to make significant concessions and that our company needed to
conclude a strategic alliance with Fiat as a requirement of our government
loans. In an extraordinary month of the Chrysler family pulling together –
and with the assistance of the U.S. government as well as the Canadian
federal and Ontario provincial governments – we have made great strides
toward an alliance with Fiat. If successfully completed, this alliance will
help sustain our business and will help bring exciting new products to our
showrooms, supporting our mission to deliver the cars and trucks customers
want to buy, will enjoy driving and will want to buy again.

Thank you again for your tireless efforts during this extraordinary time,
and your dedication to ensuring Chrysler’s future success.

Bob

Thanks,

Tom Hargrave

[MBZ] More News from Chrysler

2009-04-28 Thread Tom Hargrave
Dear Employees,

In keeping with our commitment to ongoing communications during this
critical time for our company, I am pleased to announce a resolution of
Daimler’s remaining 19.9 percent share of Chrysler Holding LLC.

* Chrysler, Daimler AG and the U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.
(PBGC) have signed an agreement under which Daimler’s remaining percent
share of Chrysler will be redeemed, and Daimler will forgive repayment of
previous loans extended to Chrysler
* This agreement facilitates our proposed alliance with Fiat and
represents another step on our road to meeting U.S. government requirements
by the April 30 deadline
* Daimler will pay $600 million into Chrysler’s pension plans over the
next three years with the first $200 million payment being made on the date
of the execution of definitive agreements, as well as $200 million in each
of 2010 and 2011. These payments will help secure future pension payments to
retirees

We continue to remain focused on completing these and all other transactions
needed to qualify for ongoing financial support from both the U.S. and
Canadian governments. As always, we are committed to preserving Chrysler and
the jobs associated with its future success.

Please be assured that we will continue to communicate new information as it
happens during this important week for our company. In the meantime, thank
you again for your continued support and dedication during these stressful
times.

Bob

Thanks,

Tom Hargrave

[MBZ] More news from Chrysler

2009-04-27 Thread Tom Hargrave
Dear Employees,

As speculation and media attention during this challenging time for Chrysler
increases, we understand that frequent communications is critical to help
maintain a clear understanding of the facts of our situation. As we work
diligently to finalize our alliance with Fiat and restructure our business
by the government’s April 30 deadline, I want to provide you a daily update
on our progress, to the maximum extent possible.

Here is a summary of recent developments:

We are pleased that we have reached a new labor agreement with the
CAW. Over the weekend, the agreement was ratified by 87% of CAW workers,
and we would like to thank our employees for their support.

The CAW agreement was a critical condition for the governments of
Canada and the Province of Ontario to certify our restructuring plan and
provide an additional loan to Chrysler. We expect to meet all requirements
to qualify for this assistance.

We are also pleased that we have reached a tentative agreement with
the leadership of the UAW. This provisional agreement provides the framework
needed to ensure manufacturing competitiveness and helps to meet the
guidelines set forth by the U. S. Treasury Department.

The details will be released following the completion of the UAW
ratification process.

Daimler AG has previously announced its intention to divest its
ownership share in Chrysler. Cerberus Capital Management and Daimler are
working through this process, and we are confident that this will be
resolved.

Let me assure you that your entire leadership team is totally focused on
completing the necessary transactions and qualifying for the appropriate
financial support of the U.S. and Canadian governments. We are pleased with
the progress made with both the CAW and the UAW, and as we work with the
other constituents, we will continue to keep you updated.

We appreciate your continued dedication and the support you’ve shown during
these demanding times. The emails of encouragement that you have sent us
are especially appreciated. Know that as we begin this very important week,
our number one priority is to preserve Chrysler and the livelihood of the
thousands of people who depend on its success.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do as we work together to
revitalize this great company and set it on a successful path.

Bob

Thanks,

Tom Hargrave
