Is there any discussion?

Are there any amendments?

Where is the Chairman and why isn't he running this meeting?

Mr Chairman!

I move that this august body (known as OkieBenz) adopt the following rule:

WHEREAS The collective wisdom of this body is exceedingly good at
diagnosing all things Diesel MB, remotely and with little "on the ground"
information, and;

WHEREAS The frugal nature of this body is such that many members squirrel
away many things, including MB technical literature, new parts, used parts,
and even entire used cars (sometimes acres of used cars, visible by
satellite), and;

WHEREAS The generous nature of this body is such that said items that have
been squirreled away are typically exchanged for the cost of shipping or
maybe a little more, and;

WHEREAS The flip side of the human nature of frugality is too often an
ornery stubborn independence (dare I say prideful?) which is especially
exhibited in those members who ask lots of questions but then usually do
their own thing regardless of input from this body, often with the result
of spending more time and money and list bandwidth exploring options that
ultimately fail and lead to the original solution proposed weeks or months
earlier, and THEN considerable "I told you so" ensues, taking up more list
bandwidth, which some members find quite entertaining and others find
rather a waste and others probably think even less of the whole sad
situation;

THEREFORE when Mr. Strasfogel asks more than three questions about a fault
with any MB automobile, and the collective wisdom of OkieBenz has narrowed
the possible root cause(s) of said fault, and said fault could be remedied
with a serviceable used part(s) or extra new part(s) that a member has in
store (like a block heater cord, one of my favorite things to harvest from
the Knackers), then the member may voluntarily and freely ship or deliver
the part(s) to Mr. Strasfogel, and then either openly or anonymously
announce to OkieBenz that the part(s) are en-route, and Mr. Strasfogel
shall then be invited to report on the success or failure of this
assistance.
