I feel like I'd need a kid's wading pool to catch everything. Maybe one
of those short, large storage boxes meant to go under a bed...

The last time that comes to mind was when the middle kid had the 210
that he poked a hole in the radiator, I pulled it out and patched it
with one of those patch kits, then refilled coolant. It lasted a couple
of weeks then replaced with cheap ebay radiator, so drained and filled
again. It
I've rarely had to drain good coolant and reuse, but the few times I’ve had to
do it I figured a dedicated pan paid for itself.

I am probably going to need to do that. I can't tell you how much good
coolant I have thrown out because I had to drain the system for one
reason or another not long after changing the fluid previously.

I have a big plastic drain pan for nothing but draining coolant. That way I
don’t have to worry about it getting contaminated with something else if I want
to re-use it.

On my 124 cars that don't have a drain valve on the radiator, I use the
block drain, stick a rubber hose on that and direct into a bucket or
whatever. That gets a lot of it out, and then I use a big wide low pan
under the lower radiator hose, and put a low bucket in the pan to try to
catch the
Most Mercedes radiators have a drain valve. Well, my 124 cars that still
have original radiators have that.

It does not unfortunately. I usually end up just doing it outside the shop so
coolant does not go all over the floor.

Does it help with draining the old coolant?
My biggest issue with routine coolant changes is just the huge mess. No
good way to drain all the old coolant. I've tried the Prestone coolant
flush kits and those make a mess too plus I don't really like cutting
the heater hoses to install their cheap
If you are doing a refill on a cooling system, this is a must have item. Makes
the job S much easier and faster. No need to worry about air bubbles. I
have used it twice now and it’s great.
