It is situations like this that really make you reevaluate your life. It usually makes you a better person and stronger family once things are back to normal! I have been working on getting everything memorabilia wise converted over to digital and then stored on a local server, backed up to a usb drive and then stored on a remote server... Similarly I had a friend that had all of his family pics stored on a redundant server and backed up to a local drive, then lost everything when the basement flooded. -Rolf Mathieu J. It's going to court later this month, so I don't want to say much about it. By the time I pay the attorney fees I will recover only a fraction of the money if any. I think that some insurers just flat refuse to pay claims, knowing that the only recourse for the insured is to hire a lawyer and go to court. And since attorney fees are generally the responsibility of the individual parties, you risk collecting nothing or even being negative if you do this, even if you have a legitimate case. Good luck! i have to say something about those floods. i live above the water and had no idea that there was anything going on besides heavy rain for a long time. it was only when i tried to go out to the store that i realized the magnitude of the disaster. the river and streams just literally created lakes. bridges were largely wiped out and low lying items found themselves under water. when i bought my house, altitude relative to bodies of water was not even considered. my advice is to buy high and buy on rock.
