I had one of those flat fuzzy pad things. It did not work very well and
was a pain to use. IIRC, I went backover the previously painted wall
because it did not control the edge of the new paint and bled over to
where it was not supposed to.

I learned how to cut in with a brush and that's how I have done it for a
long while.

You can buy these flat fuzzy pad things that have little rollers on the holder
to run it right along the wall, you can cut in the edges right quick. I’m
pretty good with a brush so I can do it pretty quickly but it does take time
and is a pain.

If you look back in the archives, I think you will see I suggested the
industrial extra wide roller when you asked about paint sprayers.  They
cover a room way fast!   I never measured the length, but I saw los
amigos painting rooms in a flash with  them.   It took 3-4 with brushes
to keep up with one guy with a roller.

Coworker suggested I invest in some 18” roller stuff. I did.

Amazing.

I’m doing ceilings right now, and with an 18” roller I was able to do
the whole family room ceiling in roughly 20 minutes. That’s a room
that’s about 18’ x 16’ or thereabouts with a 12’ ceiling.

Still have to cut in the edges, which will probably take me as long as
it did to roller the ceiling.

Is that a Plain Old Ordinary (POO) roller, or some special type?

How smooth is the ceiling?

How long is the nap?

Yes, that's where the work comes in.
