It’s not the drive out there, it’s the fact that there’s no one to service it if he has problems. At best the closest place is in Flagstaff. He won’t be driving to work. The NPS provides housing for most of its employees at the Canyon, and he’ll be working below the rim, so he’ll be

Should be good for over 350k miles with proper maintenance. Cycle it through 4 high, 4 low, every month, they have a tendency to fail  if not used. They have a near cult following, not unlike Mercedes classics. Take the Toyota and $1,500- $2,000 in trade, and you have a fair deal.
