So duct out to the garage, then up to its ceiling, and inside that go to
wherever?
If you're willing to peel open the wall, go up _inside_ the garage wall?

No, don't see any easy way to run a duct inside the ceiling other than out into
the garage, but maybe I could go through the ceiling over the garage to the
outside wall.  The issue there is that would be the front of the house, so
aesthetically that would be a challenge.

I don't think that will meet fire code -- garage walls are usually
thicker sheetrock and a fire door, you put a penetration in there and if
a car catches fire  or something, you have a problem

I presume the garage does not get conditioned air? Again, this shouldn’t be an
issue as far as I could imagine. There’s enough air leakage in a garage that
there’s no way you could push enough air into the space from inside the house

Good idea, or bad idea?

The vent will primarily move odors out of the house, which although smelly
will be 'dry' air conditioned air, because there is no shower or bathtub -
just a half-bath.
