So far here, the extra tax on EVs is paid with the registration. No taxes on charging (yet). Allan Curt Raymond via Mercedes writes: > Google suggests 1.4KWH which seems really small. Google suggests 1.4KWH which seems really small. Where I live the cost to charge would be $0.14.The Focus electric has a 33.5KWH battery so $3.30 to charge. I also wonder about the tax man but where I work the charging stations take a credit card... -Curt On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 3:16:56 PM EDT, Randy Bennell via Mercedes wrote: I wonder what the electricity to charge it every night cost? Re: [MBZ] OT insanity that anyone would pay $12K for a car that can go 75 miles.
The way people drive in LA you wouldn't last 10 minutes. Plus its HOT... I agree that $12k is high for a 7 year old tiny electric car. I'd buy one for half that though. -Curt On Monday, May 17, 2021, 8:59:20 PM EDT, Allan Streib wrote: But $12K?? Get an electric moped or a golf cart for 5 miles. Most people in Los Angeles live in a 5 mile radius circle. If its farther than 5 miles away it's "not worth it" because it'll take two hours to get there. Before COVID, that was a $6-8k car in California. No established market value outside of the three states (CA MD OR) that were meant to have it. And I believe the 2014 might have been CA only.
