Temperature dropped here when the storm passed - it was 64F this morning when I went out. I think it’s only forecast to get up to 80F today. I have some mature trees in falling range of my house (wooded lot). Always checking them out for any signs of disease/weakness, but you can't always tell. If the ground gets wet enough any tree can just fall over, especially in strong winds. Sometimes I think about having some of them cut down but it's quite expensive from what I'm told, and I like the shade at this time of year. So this TS Elsa came through here Wednesday night. 5in rain. There was a (near) Tornado a few miles away but didn’t seem to be much wind here. I found a huge tree branch, like the top of a water oak tree which are very brittle and go bad, had fallen out in the dog back yard area, managed to miss the garage. So I went out this afternoon and cut it up and got it out of there. Done. About 15 min later I hear this crash out there, and another big branch had fallen right close to where I was cutting up the other one. It’s a bit breezy today so I guess this wind finished the job.
