Re: [MBZ] Oh wow I might have to have this
Did you know the first year of 2 of 123 240D/220D etc had the pull start knob? It was actually a combo pull start and idle control knob. All W115 240D until 1976) were pull start. All W115 300D (until 1976) were key start. W123 replaced them both in 1977. W115 has a key start with the knob that you turn for starting assistance. Re: [MBZ] Oh wow I might have to have this
I believe the 240 was always a W123, the 220 only lasted until 1974. Might have been a 240 for the last couple years (73 and 74), but the W123 came out in 75 as the 240, the 300 W123 was I think 1976. At least until 72 the W115 was a pull knob start, and I think that was true until the W123. 300D/W114 got key start with a relay somewhere along there, but I don’t remember when — that is, the 5 cylinder diesel. {eter > On Apr 30, 2022, at 5:42 PM, Jim Cathey via Mercedes > wrote: > > I thought key-start was a W123 thing. > > -- Jim > > > ___ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Hmm - when did the 240D in the W115 chassis come out? I thought they went with key start instead of the pull knob when the 240D replaced the 220D.
