Well, I don't know about anyone listening to old time MB folks...no one listens to me :-)) But, I've always used Mann in my two 617s and that was when they were both driven daily and had 3K oil changes with Mobil Delvac 15x40 dino oil. A few times I needed an oil change and couldn't get a Mann,

Bzzzt wrong. Checked 606 filters for example 108.80 when buying case of 10 from your Mann site, fcp has the case for $94.99. Or you can get oem Mahle for 8.10 each from importec. For a 617 it's 223.20 for case of 20, or 8.45 each from importec, $8.69 each from fcp. In 80-90% of the cases

Over twenty years ago when I got my 617s, I tried different oils. The Mobil Delvac 15x40 dino did the best job of keeping a higher oil pressure when hot. I've tried Rotella and others without that result. I've only run dino in these old cars, 3K oil/filter changes and they are both happy

I've used the tranny fluid to lube the IP in both my 617s. As they were driven daily, I never noticed an engine performance improvement. I just did it to lube the IP to replace the sulfur lube they used to get before diesel got "clean" to save us all. Best Wishes, Roger Roger Hale

Those were popular with the old shovy 6 cyl engines of the 40s through 50s, which were delivered without oil filters. It was common to add a firewall mounted filter canister that took a c-3 or c-4 fram fiter. The TP was about the same size as the c-4. These were bypass filters. In

Since Allen is going to be my DD for the future, I am taking many hours to get her a little more reliable. The W220 is going to be coming back, but I do not trust it. I got the SD with what I am sure was long delayed fluid care. I have not done PS or brake fluid, but the oils got swapped
