What is the temp in Phoenix today? Just curious. I am thinking about throwing
my name in the hat for an open west coast regional manager job at work but
would have to relocate to the region which would mean having to live in

My main issue would be
I have a feeling I would be way out of my okie element in any of these
locations. At the end of the day if I were to proceed and did by some long shot
get the move up, it would mean a fundamental change of life style. I would have
to sell all or most of my cars and parts. In the end I am not
Idaho or Utah are relatively inexpensive. ABQ is nice, I hear. Maybe
Flagstaff. The coastal states are either tax you to death or cost an arm and
leg in metro regions.

Portland is nice, but lots of clouds and the granola folks. Eastern Oregon is
pretty sparse but nice, as is eastern Washington state.

Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, LA, San Fran, Seattle, Boise. I would think I would
want to be within an hour of an airport. We don't have any business in NM.

Boise is nice if you don’t mind winter. It’s surprisingly mild, much like
Denver can be, due to the location. I would absolutely go to Boise if I had to
move north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
You’ll have to put up with a lot of Mormons, though. It’s sort of a second
Salt Lake City of sorts.

I have been to California a few times, Denver 1 time, but other than that have
not visited the west much other than Craig in NM. I would like to see Reno and
Vegas sometime. Yosemite as well.

My sister has lived there since the '60s and says ooh, we love it. I've
told that if she cares to see me, she can come up here. They say it's a dry
heat and I say so is a crematorium.
I've made the trip by light plane but
Phoenix may suck in the summer with 115F heat... but try shoveling sunshine
all winter just once and you will change your tune.
I have seen temps here inside a closed car [measured] of 180+ at high
summer season. Plan accordingly. At the Ranch I've measured ground temps
[mid summer] of 190F+.
Sure wish the thousands upon thousands of snowbirds felt the way you do.
Good for our economy? Sure if you own a business but for the average
resident, it adds untold frustration and increased expense.
