I believe that the general consensus os that a higher rating is better, due
to the increased sidewall stiffness.

I would not put on a Jokohama tire if it was given to me along with a
sack of money. Those are killer tires, as in they can kill you.
Tread unwraps on new tires at 70 MPH and does serious damge to your
car. In case you don't catch the subtlety of my post, you can call

I'm not sure how fast you want to go, but I have Goodyear Regatta 2 tires on
my 240D (and our Buick), and I can attest to the fact that they don't blow
out at 90+ mph (in Oklahoma, heading down to an OkieQ). Plus, they go really
good on snow and glare ice.
