Feel along the side of the steering column for a switch. Move it
towards you to telescope the wheel to you, and away to move it away.
All NA spec 124's that I know of did that. If your car doesn't have
much in the way of power toys then you may not have this handy
feature.

My 92 2.5T doesn't for some strange reason. It has the optional (for
that year I think) passenger airbag though.
Haven't driven my TD
Where lucky that the MB's shipped out here had an engine, let alone
fancy gizmos like that.
As an example all Oz delivered 123's had manual climate controls, don't
think it was even an option to have auto climate.
Anyway the seating position in the 124 is pretty good, I wouldn't mind
having

My '87 SDL does have it, but the '90 300D 2.5 doesn't . The SDL also
has memory seats, and the 300D doesn't - maybe it was a package thing.

That's what I found, when I am at a comfortable distance from the
steering wheel my legs are cramped and when I am at a comfortable
position for my legs I am too far away from the steering wheel. Also
there is not much headroom unless you have the low seat option, which
mine has but even just
