First, apologies to any who responded and I didn't see it. I had cataract
surgery on my other eye on Wed, and have not been able to read computer
screens since, at least not normal size ones. I can copy and paste and
enlarge, if I could tell it was something I needed to do that with, out of
the couple of hundred I get a day.

I looked at the 1994 S320 today. 140k miles and really in pretty good shape
inside and out - except for the rather gaudy new 20" rims and tires. A few
somewhat minor [could I do the repairs] items. Nice dash and wood [for the
most part]. He is asking $5,500 with a rebuilt transmission. Runs well.
For a few hundred bucks it would be a pretty nice car. It is a gamble I am
not sure I want to take. The dealer has a 1997 S320 with 152K miles. They
have it on the used car showroom floor. It would take a mechanic to tell it
from a new car in most respects. The only way I could was a few dings on
the edge of the driver's door. They sold and serviced it, but also want
$17k for theirs. We don't want to spend that much $. We are going to look
at a Compass this weekend, and we will go back together to look at the S320.
If my darling wife likes it that might be what we get. It will have to pass
a professional inspection first, though..

Eyes are much better today now that the physician induced paralysis is gone,
but not good yet. Bleah
