I used Dupli-color in a w115. Prep work is the key. I tried to be thorough,
but was not as good as I could have been. The original was black Tex. Tan
rattle can on door cards and seats lasted really well for over five years.
Driver seat did show some issues in spots that were not really
Spray paint might work but there are lots of types of spray paint and who
knows how stable they would be over time.

Search the you tubes, there's a video of a guy that fixes a red bucket seat in
a 560SL with red spray paint and a white rag. Spray on some paint, immediately
wipe it / rub it into the leather, repeat until you're happy with how the seat
looks.

OK thanks all, leather dye it is. I'll order a bottle or maybe the

Would the shoe polish come off on your clothes? Leatherique makes some dyes
for leather seats.

From a long time ago, Dye will soak into the
leather because it has a lot of light
volatiles to carry the color into the leather
but shoe polish has a lot of wax that holds
the color on top where with little
penetration into the leather it will come off
on your clothes.

I'd guess that shoe polish will not soak into the vinyl, and WILL rub off
onto your arm or sleeve. It doesn't last very long on shoes, why do you
think it will on the seat? Use die, that's what it's made for. Use vinyl
paint on the door.

The SL600 has a bit of wear on the driver bolster where you slide in and
out, getting kinda white. I was thinking that some liquid black shoe
polish might touch it up.
The vinyl door top part where you rest your arm is also a bit worn, was
thinking that the shoe polish would probably work on
