Re: [MBZ] Slow to shut off W123
Well the stop lever is limited in travel by the valve cover, the shutoff is internal to the engine. I suppose I could unhook the linkage and see what happens. I also wonder if it is because of the amount of fuel I am delivering. -Rolf Craig McCluskey wrote: On Thu, 11 Jun 2009 00:01:19 -0400 Rolf Martin-Hoster r...@winmutt.com wrote: Before you say anything it is NOT a vac problem. I can pull 25 on the diaphragm without issue. Even tested a spare diaphragm. My linkage is a bit wonky and I can't stop with the stop lever either. Could the two be related? Need you ask? If you can't push the stop lever and have the car stop, neither can the shutoff diaphragm. Make sure you have some wrenches readily available to make sure the engine doesn't run away. I also wonder if it is because of the amount of fuel I am delivering. If you have monkeyed with the injection pump, all bets are off. Still don't see how the two can be connected really but I'll readjust per the manual. When I say slow to shutoff I mean you kill the switch and it runs through another 5 cylinders worth of fuel. What I really need is manual trans linkage... -Rolf ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
