If you set the crank damper to "0" degrees, the piston will be all the 
way up! The location of the cam sprocket and cam tower marks will define 
which half of the cycle you are in.


See the "Cam timing marks on 606" thread and look at the attached TSB on 
checking chain stretch of OM60x engines.

Rotate the crank to OT, then pull the oil cap and make sure both #1
cam lobes are pointing up, i.e. not depressing their respective lifter
buckets.  If the lobes aren't up, then rotate the crank another time
around, rinse and repeat.

look on the crank pulley/harmonic balancer for the marking labeled "OT"

The IP is set to 15 degrees ATDC
