It should have the higher compression
I am pretty sure most/all 114/115's with fuel injection used the D-jet.
K-jet came in with the 123's.
Mercedes did use a pure mechanical injection system much like a diesel
injection system in 50's and 60's.

If the mileage is honest and it's in the condition he claims then it might
be worth 10K or more.

I can't argue the point that the seller does not provide enough info. If the
Mercedes really is what he states it is then he should have dozens of inside
outside photos of the car.

I dunno, it has four doors, a low-compression M110, and a Solex 4A1.
I'm thinking $4k is pushing it in a best case scenario. I can almost
envision a small-bumper 250C worth
The 6 cylinder of this particular model was never imported into the States.
It should have the higher compression Eurpoean engine and the machanical
fuel injection system.

No that would be a US model, they are fairly common.

Check your records, from my understanding the 108 / 109 bodies imported into
the US were V8 only.

I'm thinking $4k is pushing it in a best case scenario. I can almost
envision a small-bumper 250C worth ten grand, but that is nearing into
W111 coupe territory, and you can buy an excellent SLC for five grand.
I have a small-bumper 250C, and it's even a hardtop convertible! Doubt
I could get
Well first of all this is a 114, there are plenty of 114 6 cylinder
engines imported into the US. As for 108/109, there were also plenty of
those brought in as well. The 4.5 didnt arrive until 71 in the 108/109.
Before that they were all 6 cylinder.

This is a 114.

Only problem it has two doors too many.
The four door W114/115 are a bit on the boring side but the C114 actually is
a very classy looking car and IMHO better than the C123.
However when you sell something it is better to ask for too much then too
little, you can always come down in price but
Oooh yeah the fantastic D-jetronic system, not so bad if you can work on it
