Re: [MBZ] Tire source

2014-10-18 Thread LarryT via Mercedes
Speaking of Hankooks, I've been running them on my 91 300D and my 74 911
- all 8 tires look brand new. The MB has approx 40,000 miles on them
and they still look brand new. They have not seen much snow but what
they have has been handled with ease. No complaints about snow or rain
performance. Same for the 911 - very good traction in all conditions
and great wear resistance. Not as many miles on the 911 - maybe 12-15K.

They are priced lower than many tires but the price doesn't equal poor
qualities.

Sumitomo's personality, found in the products and the daily operations of
Sumitomo Tire, is shaped by a company history extending more than 350
years. The history of Sumitomo dates back to the early 17th century, when
Masatomo Sumitomo (1585-1652) opened a book and medicine shop in Kyoto.

Later in life, he created his Founder's Precepts, which laid out his
business philosophy. The Sumitomo Business Principles, stressing

Sumitomo company for more than 350 years. Sumitomo's initial mainstay
business was copper mining. It later diversified into a variety of fields
including finance, insurance, iron and steel, real estate, and trade.
Today, Sumitomo is acknowledged as one of Japan's leading business groups.
