I think I've finally gotten the Traffic Pro 7881 installed
in the SEL. Maybe my wife will shut up about not having a
CD player now.
It was a royal pain, to avoid butchering the car I had to fabricate
a male power connector, I used 10-gauge solid copper wire and
a small block of Mpingo wood.

This was a take-out from some other MB. Nothing
but the bare head unit. No instructions, no connectors,
no antennae, etc.
I'm surprised that Becker NA wouldn't be helpful. I haven't
tried contacting them yet, I just got the thing.

Actually, I think you can expect help from Becker.
In addition, you shouldn't have any problem finding the installation manual
online. A quick google search brings me this:

Well, here is old Faeth, just being himself.
The fact was, the unit would cut off sound about every five minutes and
resume after a short period, regular as clockwork. Over and over and over.
...The 'new' replacement for the noisy (and CD-less) Becker 1480
came today: a Harman/Becker 7881 Traffic Pro. Now I get to see
if it's easy to put in. _All_ the connectors are different,
even the antenna. (Not planning to hook up the GPS right away,
unless an GPS antenna for it is cheap
