It was the fact that a couple weeks ago the starter on my 240D went out, and
my local indie (who is a great guy and *extremely* accommodating) gets $600
out of me for the part, labor and tow bill. *sighs* That is a lot of money,
no matter how you slice it.

I torrent my linux install cd sets all the time, have yet to get a virus
laden file. The Debian people even tell you it's better than http download
speed wise and server load wise.
Just goes to show that bit torrent (the protocol, not a client/program) is
indeed a very good content distribution
