I replaced the *Light Out Sensor Box* behind the fuse panel -- still no
fog lights. Next I need to check the bulbs. Would be a huge
coincidence if both died at the same time.. eh?

Hi Jim,
I double checked the lights - they are not working in any
situation - I am 100% sure they worked with the high and low beams on as
well as the Park lights only on.
I hadn't considered both bulbs being bad - I'll pull the bulbs and
see if I am getting 12V to them. I wonder

You sure the high beams aren't on? Both bulbs good?

I'm pretty sure my Fog lights work regardless of which lights are

I'll also look for the Lamp-Out Sensor Box. Is it near the fuse box?
Thanks again -

On the subject of fog lights, I bought a pair of proper size foglights
from FLAPS for my '83 300D. When I got home and tried to install them,
they were not sealed beam but had removable bulbs and would not attach
to supporting structure for the old sealbeams, and the bulb assbly was

My gmail doesn't put curt's messages in spam. Not on my smart phone or my
laptop. YMMV. 5might be your security settings.

Hi All,
I am having some problems with my email programs so please forgive
me if this is a duplicate. When we pull the knob to activate the fogs
nothing happens, no lights, no warning of failed bulbs, nothing - just
no fog lights. I checked the fuse - it's intact and it's hot on both
Hi Ya'll,
The fog lights stopped working - the Light Out warning Light in
the dash didn't work but it always worked in the past - I checked the
Fuse which is intact and 'hot' on each side of the fuse.
I'm at a loss to know what to look at next. Any ideas? All other

If both bulbs are burned out, the light out won't detect the problem. It
measures the current flow to each side of the car.

Aren't L R fogs fused separately? I thought I recalled that the
usual MB fuse box had 6
Could be the bulb-out unit as well, if the solder cracks on the pins
(as lead free solder is known to do) the fuses will be hot but no
current gets to the lamps.
