Got top left wisdom tooth yanked today. Wasn't bothering me, but I had the
lower one out a few years ago and the top one was slowly falling out because
there was nothing below it.
After the extraction the dentist said the root was infected so good thing it
was done.

Well, my Dad - a Dentist by trade - put an implant in my sister when she
broke off a front tooth back in the late 1960's. It lasted till the late
1980's. Granted, it was still cutting edge at that time.

My father paid off his dentist sailboat with implants. The things were only
effective for about a decade and had to be replaced. Last set were good for
the rest of his life. That was maybe nine more years. Pretty sure the bugs

Not crazy about the idea of a screw in my jaw either. Seems like something that
would be prone to infection. People with artifical joints need to take
antibiotics before any dental work; in that case it may be a worthwhile
tradeoff to have a working knee or hip but not sure its worth it for a to

So my dentist sent me to a periodontist to have a "pocket" around my top back
molar evaluated. Its the tooth right next to my wisdom tooth. It's not
bothering me but the dentist says it will become a problem.
Periodontist wants to extract that tooth and the wisdom tooth, do a bone graft
and an
