2019-12-06 Thread Curley McLain via Mercedes
From the description, I think the sprinter dimension is saying it could
run circles inside a 50' square or circle, (OD) while the hondog gives
turning radius, which is half the inside front tyre to inside front tyre
circle.   (Tyre ID)   so we really don't know which turns tighter.

My H beats both, as it has a turning radius of about 6" depending on
traction and tires.

Randy Bennell via Mercedes

Google search suggests the Sprinter needs 47'6" and the Odyssey needs
33' 2".

I might be comparing apples to oranges as the descriptions are different.
For the Sprinter the data says 47'6" wall to wall turn and for the
Odyssey it says 6.05 M turning radius so I assumed the turning circle
was double the radius.
However, I wonder if the Sprinter includes the overhanging bits front
and back and if the Odyssey numbers are just at the wheels. I would
think, however that the Sprinter has much more overhang, especially on
the back and thus would likely take more room to turn.

6.05Mx2 = 39'9". Was that the longest model Honda?
Which is still surprisingly good if curb-to-curb (a smaller number than wall to
wall).
My Chevy Citation was 39' something curb-to-curb.

 Randy,
With a larger vehicle its often easier to back into a parking space than it is
to back out. I've found in some cases with our Dodge 1500 that sometimes I've
easily pulled into a space that is now a bugger to back out of.This is a case
where you backup camera will be really helpful because its in the confined
space rather than out where you can already see with the mirrors.
The trick of course is to practice, practice, practice. Angie and I went to a
restaurant the other day where I had to parallel park. I hadn't parallel parked
in probably 3 years and it took me 3 infuriating tries. I used to be really
good at parallel parking but a skill not used will atrophy.
