You're the second person to comment on New England thinking about my post-I
have to confess-I am not a native New Englander-I am from Pennsylvania-in
fact I spent 3 years on your area-attending Penn State. But you're right it
is certain logic-we all have our flaws/obsessions and we need to just deal
with them. In the 36 years we have been married I have had eight
antique/vintage/collector cars and trucks, including the 79 240D which I
used as daily driver of 500 miles a week the first 3 1/2 years I had it. I
also learned not to ask her to go to old car shows-esp. when I would spend a
week at Hershey and Carlisle shows in the fall. Hope you get the 220D-I am
envious.

Dwight I am a transplanted Pennsylvanian. Been here 15 years now. Thanks
for the good wishes, and Penn State has grown immensely since the animal house
days when you went there. Now if you drink they arrest you, the bar tender,
and the
brewery who sold the beer.

hi Tom!

i'd suggest starting with a good set of H4 'euro-code' lamps; truly=20
good quality lights are definitely worth the money, and you'll quickly=20
wonder why you didn't switch to a set of 'real' lights sooner!

i've used a variety of them over the last couple of decades in=20
multiple vehicles, and my preference has been for Cibi=E9 lamps with Osra=
m=20
Bulbs. (i'm using a set of Narva +50 bulbs in our 300D now that are=20
proving to be a close second.)
my issues with the Hellas we've tried are twofold; one is that the=20
high and low beam patterns are typically too far apart, so that if you=20
have the high beams aimed properly down the road, the low beams will not=20
project far enough forward. the second is that the lenses on the Hellas=20
seem to be more brittle; the H4 users in my family have had more Hella=20
lenses break than all others combined.
as for anything labeled Zenon/Xenon, i wouldn't spend *anything* for=20
it. most of what's advertised under the misuse of those terms isn't=20
appropriate, and some is actually detrimental. if you're using true H4=20
sealed bulb lamps, you have your choice of bulbs in a variety of Wattage=20
combinations already if you decide you need more than the typical=20
55/60W. (most people quickly find out that with proper lamps, they don't=20
need extra wattage like they thought they might.)

try what's been working for most of the rest of the world where they=20
weren't subject to the arcane absurdities of DOT lighting regulations=20
first, then see if you need to do anything else. ;-)

this can can be a lot of help:

cheers!

[MBZ] Wive's Preferences

2006-12-20 Thread Black, Waylon
There is a 1981 300D(non turbo) that matches that description parked
next to my garage. Bought at auction. Green on green with 3 green
hubcaps and one yellow cap in the trunk.

Got fuel to the IP but not to the injectors. Tried to pull start the car
but no start. Really didn't do too much to check it out as it was bought
during the summer and I no longer do well with the Texas heat. I've
spent about 30 minutes looking at it. It was originally bought to
replace my mom's 240D but she likes a blue 240D over a green 300D.

Compression sounds good. I should do a compression check.

$750 obo or trade for ?

Car is located in Little Elm, Texas 75068

I can get pics this weekend. It really looks good now as it is raining
here.
