Hello fellow MB enthusiasts.
I found an ad for a fixer 78 or 79 300D (it says both in the ad).
Supposedly, it slips when shifting from second to third. The guy bought it
thinking it was an easy fix with the vacuum modulation, but since it was a
722.118 tranny, he can't fix it because it doesn't have a modulator. He
must not have dealt with one of these control rod trannies yet. As I
understand it, this Can be fixed by either adjusting the rod or changing the
bushing at the AT end (randy B). I remember the situation a while back with
his '76 300D. I'm thinking about getting a good "look" at the car tomorrow
to see if it's worth taking a chance on.
