Re: [MBZ] crossflow refrig condensor for 134a

2020-03-15 Thread Curley McLain via Mercedes
this picture of the new one has two lines at the inlet and outlet, so it
is apparently a parallel flow

The ones in the 87 and 91 300Ds also have two inlet and outlet tubes.
I guess that is why the klima guys don't have a 124 model.

So it looks like we are good.

That would make sense.

It’s the same number across the board for both models. I don’t see a
supersession in the EPC, but it’s possible the old number was cleared out years
ago.

If that number supercedes the original part in 85-9x models, then it
likely is the 134a condensor, while the originals may not have been.
I'll try to look at both cars side by side to see if the condensors look

When I looked at it a long time ago it was all the same part number. Since r134
works great in the later cars that came with it I just assumed the part number
was probably superseded way back in the 90s to work with 134.

The R134 condenser will be more efficient than the R12 condenser, so they
will probably only supply that.

R134a was mandated for use in 1994. The 124 got the facelift in 1994, so I'm
not sure if the condenser is interchangeable, but if it is, Bob's your uncle c
