Repost, with additional info at the end, so it is all in one place:
Then it is a 300D as a 300TD is a wagon.

I have something going on with my 82 300TD (144 kmiles) the front end is
riding up much higher than it used to. There was always a slight alignment
problem where one of the front tires would wear out prematurely on the
outer edge. I had the car recently aligned and it seems to ride even
higher
First of all, lets be sure we are talking about the same thing. This
is a wagon, right? 300TD is a wagon with hydraulic rear suspension.
Many people call a 300 turboodiesel a 300TD, but it is a 300D, same
as is NA variant.
You say the front is high, but the last sentence says the rear is

To clarify, it is a sedan not a wagon. It does *not* have the leveling
system.
Also, the back does not appear that low but the front is a lot higher.
If I do need to replace the rear subframe mounts would that be a job that I
could do with only one hydraulic jack and 4 jack stands? would I need

You will probably need to take the rear suspension apart to properly
diagnose it, my bet is on tired springs and tired rubber (subframe
bushings, spring pads, differential mount). Additionally could be a broken
spring or two. Rear lower control arms can rust and collapse too. This is
a big job

the rear tires look like they are further apart at the bottom than
the top? If so, the cure is new rear subframe
Dead shocks often result in sagging rear ends on an MB.
However, spring DO collapse with age and use, and even MB spring break
once in a while -- in fact, I just replaced the fronts on my TE due to
the bottom coil snapping off on both sides. First ones I've seen
broken on a Benz, but I
